Beat American Writer whose writings on addiction have not been surpassed. Author of Junky, an autobiographical account of heroin dependency. Best known for Naked Lunch, an avant garde and experimental novel that launched his reputation as a pioneer in post modern American literature. One time while drunk, Burroughs shot his wife in the forehead in an attempt to hit the apple on the top of her head, ala William Tell.
